» The basic rules of role-play apply here. Which include: no chat-speak within role-play, no god-moding, and/or powerplaying. Please use common sense. If you need an explanation of what powerplay, or godmoding is; then please contact a staff member.

» Try to post at least once a week. It’s not hard and activity is essential!

» Sub-boards for your character logs are only available to active members who have been on Sidewalk for a full month. PM Chicago at that time and she will happily set you up a sub-board.

» Read all the rules, if you break them and use the excuse of “oh, I didn’t read that!” will not be tolerated.

» Almost all font colors are acceptable, but please refrain from selecting blinding ones or ones that clash dramatically with our skin. You will be asked to change the color if this occurs.

» Please remember to keep OOC matters out of the IC, and vice-versa. Don’t throw a fit because someone else’s dog called yours ugly. You are not children, this is a roleplay; not The Hills.

» Staff do not control whether or not your character is accepted into the pack, that is decided solely by the pack leader(s). We cannot, and will not force them to accept you. It’s simply not fair.

» Please only put one name in your display name, it doesn’t need to be ridiculously long. Special characters and symbols are forbidden in display names, it makes things look far too cluttered.

» Best part of Sidewalk? No character limit! You’re encouraged to create numerous dogs.

» Theft of any kind will not be tolerated whatsoever. If you suspect theft, please contact Chicago; be sure to provide information. Simply accusing someone of being a “thief” will not help the staff in any way.

» If your signature image, or any other image you’re using on the forum stretches the boards, please change/resize it. The automatic resize is there to let you know when the image needs to be smaller. Do not place images within blockquotes, it causes the boards to stretch.

» Sidewalk is a literate/advanced role-play, so we ask that all in-character posts reach a minimum of 300 words in length. This may or may not change in the future.

» Do not use any other symbol, or special character to indicate speech or thought. We ask that you please bold speech and italicize thoughts so it’s less confusing for everyone.

» Do not post an empty starting thread, there’s no reason to have a blank thread with “coming soon!” plastered on it.

» TIP!! private threads should be labeled as such, tagged for someone in the thread title or post to lessen confusion for others. This is not mandatory, but it is preferred.

» If you’d like a fight to be judged, please contact Chicago via PM.

» If a challenge goes unanswered for five days, and no absence notice is posted; then it will be considered a forfeit and the active participant will be declared the winner by default.

» When a pack leader is challenged for their title, the winner of said fight receives one-month immunity from any and all challenges.

» Remember, your dog isn’t a super dog. His nails are not razor sharp, and they cannot sear flesh from the bone, nor can he take on eight dogs all by his lonesome and triumph, totally unscathed. His teeth are not sharp enough to cleave flesh and bone either. Please be realistic. Your dog is not, and will not be, invincible.

» Please make sure that you reach the word minimum for each individual section in the biography. If you’re not certain, you can google a “word counter” or use Microsoft Word easily.

» Sidewalk is a realistic role-play, this means: no outrageous colors, markings, fur, and eye colors – don’t be ridiculous, please. Your dog isn’t going to have violet eyes and blood-red fur.

» Stick to the supplied form, please do not alter it in any way. It’s there for a reason.

» Like in almost all roleplays, you’re not allowed to post within the in-character boards until your application has been reviewed. You may post within the OOC boards as much as you’d like, however.

» No jewelry, clothes, and/or accessories. Collars and other “realistic” things are perfectly acceptable, however. If you’re not too sure about whether or not something will be found acceptable, PM Chicago and ask.

» This is a stray dog role-play. No wolves, dingoes, coyotes, foxes, etc. Hybrids included.

» Breeding threads are currently optional, though VERY much preferred.

» Please keep in mind that because this is a realistic role-play, force-breeding IS allowed.

» Fill out the provided birthing form found within the “Grounds of Regrowth” and wait until the stork delivers your puppies. Do not PM the stork, or staff begging for specific puppies; you can purchase certain things using the Sidewalk Shop.

» TIP!! Breeding threads can now be made in Winter as well and the form may be posted, but the stork will not deliver the pups until spring :D

» In order for your puppy to become a legitimate character, you must write a personality for it. To do this, simply make a new thread within the character creation board with the subject of “Name || Puppy”. Once it’s reviewed and accepted, it will be moved to the puppy board and you may begin role-playing your puppy.

» Puppy personalities must be a minimum of 200 words in length, writing an appearance is optional. Please keep in mind that you may not add on health problems (physical or mental) that the puppy would have had to be born with. You must stick with what the stork has given you.

» Conception is based entirely on chance, so please keep in mind that not every litter is successful and unless purchased you can have anywhere from zero to eight puppies.
